Focused practice in your browser
The BREVITY Woodshedder
Your view of effective practice may change.
Let your writing tell you.
Use the Woodshedder with one 160-WPM practice drill and see how a focused practice session feels before you decide whether it belongs in your routine.
What you receive.
- Seven days of access to the BREVITY Woodshedder.
- One selected 160-WPM BREVITY practice drill.
- The drill’s audio, Word transcript, and Woodshedder-ready text.
- Clear instructions for loading the text, choosing a pace, using See and hear, reading your notes back, and comparing your result.
How to use the trial.
- Open the included 160-WPM drill.
- Open the Woodshedder and load the included text.
- Choose a pace you can control. Keep the words visible and spoken while you write.
- Write the whole sentence, read back your notes, then reveal the text to compare.
- Make a note of what was clear, what was difficult, and what you want to practice again during the seven days.
Test it for yourself.
Use the trial to make a before-and-after comparison.
- Write the entire included drill once, from beginning to end. Rate how you did on a scale of 1 to 10.
- Practice it at a speed 50 WPM below your current speed, and write down how long you practiced.
- Open the Woodshedder and work with the first two minutes of that drill. Keep practicing that passage until you can write it cleanly and consistently.
- Turn the drill back on and write those first two minutes again. Rate yourself from 1 to 10 and compare the score with your first attempt.
If the Woodshedder did not help you write the passage better, there is no reason for you to invest in it.
After you review the drill.
Once you have written the 160-WPM drill and read back your notes, you can receive a short set of BREVITY outlines drawn from that material for additional practice.
The outlines stay tied to the included drill, so you can work from the language you have already heard, written, and reviewed.
Why this trial is structured this way.
It gives you enough time to use the tool more than once, with one focused piece of material. You can learn the practice loop, try the See and hear feature, and decide whether this kind of controlled practice fits the way you work.
The trial is about experiencing the materials and the practice process. It does not promise a particular speed, certification result, or other outcome.
