Deterministic systems scale. Probabilistic systems break.

A single-word outline is deterministic:
hear → fire → done.
No buffer.
No branching.
No interpretive overhead.
No real-time gambling.

It obeys the laws of motor memory.
It stabilizes under stress.
Its reliability increases with fatigue because patterning takes over.

But phrasing-heavy systems introduce conditional logic into a time-critical motor task.

The moment you tell a reporter:

“Combine whatever you can, whenever you can, if the structure allows it,”

you’re no longer teaching strokes.
You’re teaching decision trees.

And decision trees have a failure rate — not because the reporter is weak, but because:

  • prediction is costly,

  • holding unfinalized clauses is costly,

  • mid-stroke aborts are costly,

  • context switching is costly,

  • recovery cascades are costly.

Under clean input, the cost is hidden.
Under messy input, the cost detonates.

This is the structural flaw bulletin-board wisdom never caught:

Brief-heavy theories hide most effort in the prediction layer, not the stroke layer.

They look efficient on paper
and feel efficient at low heart rates
and collapse the moment disorder increases.

That’s why Magnum champions look superhuman:
not because the theory is universally efficient,
but because they personally absorb the cost that the system pushes onto the operator.

And that brings us to the uncomfortable but necessary truth:

A theory that relies on high prediction skill is not a writing system.

It’s a cognitive performance act.

Great for contests.
Great for YouTube demos.
Great for trained outliers.

But impossible to scale to thousands of normal nervous systems
operating under fatigue, stress, and long-form unpredictability.

BREVITY’s unstoppable consistency is not a side effect.
It’s the result of a design rule:

Never offload the cost of efficiency onto the reporter’s prediction ability.

If phrasing happens, great.
If it doesn’t, the system doesn’t stumble, doesn’t hesitate, and doesn’t punish you.

That single shift — removing the gamble from the baseline — is what gives reporters the sensation they all describe the same way:

“It feels empowering …
And I’m not dying after eight hours.”

That absence of pain is the data speaking.

And the moment the field sees that absence quantified —
in hesitation counts, fatigue curves, and error cascades —
phrasing-heavy systems will be understood for what they truly are:

Unsustainable for humans.
